VARIANCE REQUEST FOR MAIN STREET

WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council wishes to request a variance from Rule Gld
of 14 MCAR S 1.5032 State-Aid Operations under Minnesota Statutes Chapters 161
and 162 to allow the use of its Municipal State-Aid funds without penalty.
WHEREAS, the design submitted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation
District 3 does not meet a 30 mile per hour design for Main Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Elk River City Council that:
1) A variance from the design standards be granted to permit a 20 mile per
hour design speed in lieu of the 30 mile per hour design requirement for
Main Street from Station 49+28 near the junction of CSAH 42 to Station
57+85 east of the junction with Railroad Avenue on State Project 7101-49.
