Action Requested
Open and continue the public hearing until the June 23, 2015, Planning Commission meeting.
Background /Discussion
City and county staff have been working together to position county property adjacent to the Sherburne
County Government Center for a data center. As part of that discussion, a portion of county property
must be rezoned from Residential (R -1c) to Business Park (BP).
The zoning district boundary is irregular in this area and adjusting the line to correspond to streets and
property lines is desired. The attached map shows BP in purple and R -1c in green. At the conclusion of
the process, the red area will be rezoned to Business Park, and the yellow area would be rezoned to R -1c.
Access for a data center would come from a new road, as an extension of Rawlings Street.
A rezoning, if approved would not impact the operations of the county facility.
Staff is requesting that the Planning Commission open and continue the public hearing to June 23 at
which time staff will bring the associated Land Use Amendment forward for review.
