Recent communications on the Downtown Revitalization Project include the following:
August Q &A Newsletter
The August Q&A Newsletter will be distributed via the following:
• August 27th Elk River Star News (7,561 distribution)
• City Web site
• Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association
• Chamber of Commerce
• Municipal Utilities
• City Hall
All five editions of the Q&A Newsletter are available on the Downtown Revitalization page
of the city Web site located at www.ci.elk-river.mn.us.
It was anticipated that an announcement be included in the August 13th issue of the Star
News directing readers to watch for the August Q&A in the August 20th paper. Due to an
oversight by the Star News, announcements went into the August 13th and 20th issues but no
Q&As were inserted,hence the August Q &A will be distributed on August 27th
City of Elk River Newsletter The Current
Periodic articles on the Downtown Revitalization Project have appeared in The Current. The
Current is distributed in the Elk River Star News every other month. An article on the
project will be distributed as part of the September 3=d issue of the Current.

Direct Mail
On July 14th, the City Council directed staff to send HRA meeting notices to downtown
property owners and tenants. Meeting notices for the July 28th and August 25th HRA
meetings were sent to a list of approximately 200 people,which included the property
owners, tenants, and citizens who have specifically requested project updates. Future
meetings notices will be sent to the same group of people.
City Web Site
Downtown Revitalization Project updates are available on the Downtown Revitalization
page of the city Web site. The page is updated as project activities occur.
Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association
City staff is allowed to provide Rivers Edge with monthly updates on the project as a regular
Rivers Edge meeting agenda item. The Director of Economic Development and City
Administrator attended the August 13th Rivers Edge meeting to provide a status report and
answer questions.
Future Open House
With the direction of the HRA,MetroPlains would like to schedule an open house meeting
for prospective commercial tenants in the next 30-60 days. The purpose of the meeting will
be to provide information about the proposed project and details about lease space,
improvements, and rates.
