SUBJECT: Discuss HRA Meeting Schedule
The City Council has reviewed its meeting schedule and has decided to make a change. Shortly after
the first of the year the City Council will begin to meet on the first, second, and third Mondays of
the month and will no longer meet on the fourth Monday of the month. This change (currently the
Council does not meet on the first Monday) will take place when the remodeled City Council
Chambers is available for meetings. City staff anticipates that we will move into the remodeled City
• Hall sometime in mid-January but the City Council Chambers may not be available for meetings

until February.
In order to make the meetings convenient for Councilmembers and the public,it is suggested that
the HRA consider moving its monthly meeting from the fourth Monday of the month to the first
Monday of the month. This change would make it easier for City Councilmembers that sit on the
HRA. In our current situation, this is Councilmember Motin but it is expected that there will always
be a Councilmember on the HRA in order to facilitate good communication between the City
Council and HRA. Meeting on the first Monday of the month will also make it more consistent for
Councilmembers when a joint meeting is held.
It is appropriate for the HRA to consider this issue and discuss its meeting schedule during the
November 24, 2003 HRA meeting.
