SUBJECT: Economic Development Strategic Plan
- Call Special Meeting for Plan Update Work Sessions
Background
The Economic Development Strategic Plan provides a framework for the Commissions to
4, work within and focuses staff energies on those priority areas important to the economic
health of the City.
The EDA,HRA and City Council have all supported the update of the Plan,with
participation from its various adhoc committees including,Finance Committee,Marketing
Committee and Incubator Advisory Committee.
Participants have been notified of the following tentative dates for two work sessions
dedicated to discussing the Plan update:
Work Session I -
• Wednesday,March 31 12-5:00 PM
Work Session II -
• Wednesday,May 5 3-8:00 PM
Action Requested
Staff recommends the HRA,EDA and City Council each call a Special Meeting for the
purpose of discussing the update of the Economic Development Strategic Plan to be held
Wednesday,March 31, 2004 from 12:00-5:00 PM at the Elk River Emergency Operations
Center (located in the lower level of the Orono Parkway Fire Hall), and also for Wednesday,
May 5, 2004 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Elk River Emergency Operations Center.
