Call Meeting to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at 6:33 p.m.by Chair Anderson. 2. Consider 3/11/15 Agenda Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Nystrom to approve the March 11,2015,Parks and Recreation Commission meeting agenda. Motion carried 6-0. 3.1 Consider February 4, 2015 Work Session PRC Minutes Moved by Commissioner Kallemeyn and seconded by Commissioner Nystrom to approve the following February 4,2015 Parks and Recreation Commission Work Session Minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 3.2 Consider February I I, 2015 Regular PRC Minutes Moved by Commissioner Niziolek and seconded by Commissioner Nystrom to approve the following February 11,2015 Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 4. Open Forum -None 5. Park/Program Highlight Mr. Benoit shared a presentation regarding recreation programs held at the Activity Center. New programs offered recently have been Fabulous Fridays, Flash Mob, Chili Cook-Off featuring local restaurants. • Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 March 11,2015 6. Parks and Recreation Director Report • Mr.Hecker presented his staff report. Mr. Hecker shared the magazine with the article highlighting designing Orono Park will be out this month. 7. Division Manager's Reports Mr.Benoit presented his staff report. He shared that staff is working on the summer marketing plan for summer programs and that the program guide will be out mid- March. Mr.Benoit shared that the attendance at the Activity Center this month is already higher this year compared to last year's attendance. 8. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update Mr.Hecker handed out a copy of the plan and asked members to read it at home and email questions to him by next week Monday to be able to use the consultants time more efficiently. 9. Houlton Farm Planning Committee Update • Commissioner Anderson shared the group is meeting the last Monday of each month.They toured the property,had presentations about how the process has worked up to this point and how the funding is working along with what goes into it. The March meeting will include discussions with the DNR regarding their proposal of wildlife and hunting on property. 10. Election of Chair and Vice Chair Commissioner Anderson nominated Dave Kallemeyn to be Commission Vice- Chair. Motion carried 5-0. Commissioner Sagan nominated Dave Anderson to be Commission Chair. Motion carried 5-0. II. Announcements 12.
