A Resolution of the City of Elk River Finding that the Exchange of Real
Property is Consistent with the City of Elk River Comprehensive Plan
WHEREAS, The City of Elk River was approached by the Elk River School District with
preliminary plans to expand the high school facility onto property owned by the city;and
WHEREAS, the property encroached upon is a parking lot serving the ice arena and the
loss of parking would negatively impact the arena's operation;and
WHEREAS, the school district proposes to give the city an equal section of their parking
lot in exchange for the proposed impact,illustrated on Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, the exchange is consistent with the comprehensive municipal plan as both
parcels are guided for Public/Institutional uses and will continue to be used as such.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota,as follows: The City Council finds that the proposed exchange of real
property between the City of Elk River and the Elk River School District is consistent with the
comprehensive municipal plan.
