Overview
The property currently has a land use designation of Development Reserve /Mining /Residential and the
applicant has requested to amend to comprehensive plan to guide the property for development as
Highway Business /Mining.
Background /Discussion
As reviewed in the Ordinance Amendment (OA15 -04) earlier, a new zoning district was requested to
accommodate the applicant's long term vision for their properties. Many of the uses in the proposed
zoning district are highway business in nature.
In order for the properties to be rezoned, as requested by the applicant (ZC 15 -06), the underlying land
use needs to support the proposed zoning district, which it currently does not. The proposed Highway
Business /Mining land use will accomplish this and is an appropriate land use in the location.
