Request by City Administrator for Attendance at National
Conference
The International City Management Association (ICMA) will be hosting its annual national
conference October 17-20, 2004 in San Diego, California. Funds are in the administration
budget for my attendance at this national conference. The ICMA conference always provides
a wonderful learning opportunity through attending relevant seminars and worksession and
by gathering with my peers to discuss current events and issues. The attendance at the 2004
conference is especially important as Minnesota will be the host for the 2005 conference. As
such, most members, myself included, will be playing a fairly active role in helping to
coordinate and host this 2005 event.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve attendance for the city admimstrator at the
2004 national conference in San Diego.
