I. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Parks and
Recreation Commission was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by Chair Anderson.
2. Consider 6/10/15 Agenda
Moved by Commissioner Ahlness and seconded by Commissioner Nystrom
to approve the June 10, 2015, Parks and Recreation Commission meeting
agenda. Motion carried 6-0.
3.1 Consider 5/13/15 Regular PRC Minutes
Moved by Commissioner Kallemeyn and seconded by Commissioner Sagan
to approve the following May 13,2015 Parks and Recreation Commission
Minutes. Motion carried 6-0.
4. Open Forum - None
5. Action Items
5.1 Park Dedication Jenior Addition — P 15-04
Mr. Leeseberg presented his staff report.
Moved by Commissioner Ahlness and seconded by Commissioner Sagan to
accept staff recommendation to recommend to the City Council to accept
Park Dedication for Jenior Addition. Motion carried 6-0.

5.2 Houlton Farm Property Renaming Recommendation
Mr. Hecker presented his staff report.
Elk River resident, Eric Toth, 1023 Manor Place. Would like to see a plaque to
recognize the farmers who farmed the land for the Houlton family. The Hastings
family,Abraham family,David and Eric Toth and lastly Edson and Sherman Lane;
to recognize the stewards who maintained and preserved the land to what it is today.
Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Kallemeyn
to recommend to City Council to rename Houlton Farm to William H.
Houlton Conservation Area. Motion carried 5-0, 1 abstain.
5.3 Big Tooth Ridge Park Designation
Mr. Hecker presented his staff report
Moved by Commissioner Kallemeyn and seconded by Commissioner
Nystrom to accept staff recommendation to incorporate and rename Big
Tooth Ridge Park into the Woodland Trails Park including the additional
property to the west of Great Northern Trail as discussed. Motion carried 6-0.

7. Parks and Recreation Director Report
Mr. Hecker presented his staff report adding that Kristopher Paulseth has given his
resignation and will be moving onto the City of St.Louis Park into Forestry.
Commissioner Anderson stated that the deer herd reduction in the parks committee
u :discussing the'feeding of deer is impacting the deer population.
8. Houlton Farm Planning Committee Update
Commissioner Anderson shared there has not been a meeting since last commission
meeting. Toured the property with the wildlife biologist who will be assisting in
writing the biologist plan.

There being no further business, Chair Anderson adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River Parks and Recreation Commission at 8:26 p.m.
