SUBJECT: Regular Meeting of the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission
This is a brief discussion of the upcoming meeting on Thursday,July 16,2015, at 6:00 p.m. at the
Elk River City Hall in the Uppertown Conference Room. The agenda and packet are included
with this memo.
General Business
5.1 Water Tower Subcommittee Update
Chair Fox met with the Friends of the Kelley Farm earlier this month to see if they were
interested in teaming up to establish an account for the Friends of the Water Tower.They
seemed very interested but wanted to check with their accountant before making any
decisions. He believes we will hear back after their next meeting in August.
5.2 Review Jackson Street Water Conditions Assessment Rough Draft
Collaborative Design Group (CDG) submitted the final draft of the Jackson Street Water
Tower Conditions Assessment earlier this month. Please review the draft and forward
comments to me before or during the meeting. I will gather all of the comments and
forward them to CDG after the meeting. The draft also includes a preliminary estimate of
approximately$85k to restore the structure, significantly less than previously thought. The
HPC will need to make a motion to accept the report.
