Staff Update
DISCUSSION:
I have been working with our insurance broker to comply with our year end reporting
requirements of the Affordable Care Act. In 2016 we will need to provide individual statements
to our employees reflecting the coverage they have had with us throughout the year for
themselves and their dependents. This is a statement much like the W2s and is intended to be
provided to the employees and reported to the IRS with the same timelines. Thankfully, NISC
has been working to incorporate the reporting requirements in their system, we'll just need to
input data into the system to report on(currently we don't have dependent information in our
payroll system, only employee information.)
A NISC staff member, Eric Minard, who is our Customer Care and Billing Support Project
Consultant, will be visiting onsite the week of July 6th through the 10th. I will provide a verbal
update of the visit at the meeting.
Our Customer Service Manager(CSM), Jennie Nelson, will be out of the office for several
weeks at the end of July and Eric Mindard will be a vital resource for us during that time. Our
Billing Specialist is working closely with the CSM this month to be prepared for this leave.
