ERMUSR 08-11-2015 i Elk River UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING Municipal Utilities TO: FROM: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mike O'Neill—Superintendent of Technical John Dietz—Chair Services Al Nadeau—Vice-Chair Daryl Thompson-Trustee MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: August 11th, 2015 6.1d SUBJECT: Staff Update DISCUSSION: • The Locating department had a total of 436 locate tickets in July; four of them being emergency tickets, four cancellations, eight meetings, 378 normal tickets and 36 updated tickets. • In July,the Security Systems Department had a total of 119 phone contacts, eight systems quoted, six system sales made, seven installs completed, 36 service calls and eight personal visits. • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change out the three phase meters with meters that will be read by radio. Preparations have begun for the conversion of the new service territory. The meters have been ordered and we're working to ensure that all of the customers are in the database. • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on July 7th. All engines ran well with no problems. • Power plant is installing new ceiling panels prior to our 100 year celebration. • Staff continues to collect data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Working with GRE using the eDNA system to track and analyze our historical power factor (PF)and load data that is collected on the SCADA System. • Preparing to bring a"Field Engineer"on board to handle the staking, ESRI/AutoCAD and other engineering needs.
