Proclaim August 31, 2015, as ‘Bob Mahutga Day’ posthumously, in the City of Elk River.
Background/Discussion
Bob Mahutga began his career with the City of Elk River in March of 1997 and he was with us for over
18 years. Bob was a hard-working and dedicated employee.
Bob will be missed by his co-workers and friends. Some of his coworkers are in attendance and would
like to make a few comments.

WHEREAS,
Robert F. ‘Bob’Mahutga joined the Elk River Streets Division in March of1997 and served until his
official retirement on May 15, 2015; and
WHEREAS,
Bob’s impassionate and dedicated service as the Lead Mechanic, included maintaining a functional
fleet of heavy vehicles, managing the maintenance operations for the city and numerous emergency repair responses
after hours, on weekends, and during severe weather; and
WHEREAS,
Bob’s work ethic, technical expertise, and professionalism earned the respect and friendship of his
customers, co-workers, and the community; and
WHEREAS,
Bob’s sense of humor and cheery disposition – demonstrated with random singing, his patented
Tarzan call, his infectious smile,and his heart-felt laughwill be sadly missed; and
WHEREAS,
Bob left this world too soon, succumbing to cancer at age 64 on May 21, 2015.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, as
