Consider Hiring Law Clerk

Our office received 12 applications for the law clerk position. We interviewed two individuals
and are recommending that the City Council consider hiring Clarissa L. Christian McDonald
to fill this position. Ms. Christian McDonald is available to start work on Tuesday, June 22,
2004.
Clarissa is a third year student with William Mitchell Law School and expects to graduate in
May 2005. She is a certified student attorney and has previous work experience as a law clerk
with the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office and Tubman Family Alliance in
Minneapolis. She is available to ~vork 20 hours per week at a salary of $13.00 per hour, with
75% of her salary to be paid by the Federal Work Study grant through William Mitchell. The
remainder of her salary will come from forfeiture funds.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council hire Clarissa L. Christian McDonald to fill the law
clerk position for the Elk River City Prosecutor's office.
