Accept Resignation of Planning
Commissioner Morphew
Commissioner Jon Morphew has regrettably tendered his resignation from the Planning
Commission (letter attached). He has taken a job with a Cedar Falls, Iowa firm.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council accept Mr. Morphew's resignation and direct
staff to advertise for an opening on the Planning Commission.

Dear Michelle:
Regrettably I have to inform you that I have to resign my position on the Elk River
Planning Commission. I received a job offer from a company in Cedar Falls, IA, that was
simply too good to turn down. I am taking the position of General Counsel for Municipal
Pipe and Tool in Cedar Falls, IA.
I have enjoyed my six months on the Planning Commission and I hope I have had at
positive impact on the future growth of Elk River. One day I would like to return to Elk
River and I hope the Planning Commission continues to be a force for positive growth on
the community.
Good luck in dealing with the future growth of Elk River and if I can offer assistance in
any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
