Fire Department Open House and Closing of 4th Street
On behalf of the Elk River Fire Department Open House Committee, I would
like to invite you to our Open House and Dance on Saturday, September 16,
2000. The Fire Department Open House is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the fire
station, 415 Jackson Avenue. During the Open House demonstrations will be
held including the jaws of life rescue tool, the safe escape house, blood
pressure checks, and fire truck rides. A new addition to this year's Open
House is the State of Minnesota's residential fire sprinkler trailer. This
trailer is a live fire demonstration that has a built-in fire protection system
showing the effects of a small fire in a room and how it is put out with a
residential sprinkler.
During the evening the Fire Department will once again have The White
Sidewalls as its featured band for the dance, which will be held from 7:30 to
11:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and are available from any Elk River
firefighter. The White Sidewalls are one of the Upper Midwest's finest 50's
and 60's attractions and feature a rock and roll review.
Once again, on behalf of the Elk River Fire Department Open House
Committee, I would like to invite everyone to stop by for a fun and
informative day at the Fire Department Annual Open House on Saturday,
September 16, 2000.
In conjunction with our Open House and Dance, the Elk River Fire
Department Open House Committee is once again requesting the closing of
4th Street at Jackson during the hours of 7 p.m. to midnight in order to hold
the dance at the fire station. If you have any questions in reference to the
