SUBJECT: Consider Worksession Agendas
Item 5.5.
The agenda for the August 9, 2004 worksession looks like the following:
5.1,
5.2.
5.3.
City Council Open Forum
Salary Survey
Budget Worksession
The tentative agenda for the September 13, 2004 worksession looks like the following:
5.2.
5.3.
5.4.
5.5.
5.6.
5.7.
City Council Open Forum
Discuss Improvements for 221~t Avenue
Consider County Road 40 Turnback Agreement
Status of ER Ambulance Service
Kohler House and Library Expansion Update
Westbound Liquor Store Discussion
Budget Worksession
I had originally hoped to have the Westbound discussion in August but financial information
cannot be put together in order to make the August 9 meeting. Likewise, there might not be
enough known about the status and condition of the Kohler house to have this item on the
August 9 agenda.
It is anticipated that a special City Council worksession on the budget proposal will be held
on August 23, 2004. Regardless if another budget worksession is required on September 13
or not, action needs to be taken either on September 7 (Tuesday) or on September 13 by the
City Council to approve the proposed maximum levy so that it can be certified to the county
by the September 15, 2004 deadline.

At the October 11, 2004, worksession, I hope to have a follow up on the organizational
structure proposal, a follow up on the three Brimeyer worksessions, and a follow up on the
December 2003 proposed City Admimstrator-City of Elk River Work Program.
It should also be noted that a number of department heads have requested items to be on
future City Council worksession agendas. Two of these items include the landfill expansion
and industrial development-city owned (Brown) property.
