08-28-2000 HR MIN • MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL MONDAY,AUGUST 28, 2000 Members Present: Commissioners Thompson, Toth and Wilson Members Absent: Commissioner Huntington Staff Present: Cathy Mehelich, Executive Director; Marc Nevinski Assistant Director; Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Sandra Peine, City Clerk 1. Call Meeting To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by President Kropuenske. 2. Consider August 28, 2000 HRA Agenda COMMISSIONER THOMPSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 28, 2000, HRA AGENDA AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 3. Consider Consent Agenda COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS FOLLOWS: 3.1. JUNE 26, 2000, HRA MINUTES-APPROVED 3.2. REVENUE/EXPENSE REPORT THROUGH 7/31/2000-APPROVED 3.3. CHECK REGISTER-APPROVED COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 4. Open Mike There was no one present for Open Mike. 5. Consider Resignation of Commissioner Duane Kropuenske It was the consensus of the HRA to formally accept the resignation of Commissioner Duane Kropuenske from the HRA. It was also the consensus of the HRA that Duane Kropuenske was a key figure in the HRA. 6. River's Edge Downtown Business Association Report This item was delayed, as the presenter had not arrived. Minutes of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority Page 3 August 28,2000 Cathy Mehelich, Director of Economic Development, stated that staff would continue to work with the downtown property owners and the River's Edge group to identify some of the issues discussed. She also noted that local banks are willing to offer low interest loans for storefront renovation. She indicated that in order to move forward with storefront renovation, a consistent theme should be identified. Cathy noted that this issue would be added to a future HRA agenda for discussion. 8. Other Business There was no other business. 9. Adjournment There being no other business, COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. The meeting of the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority adjourned at 5:47 p.m. Sandra Peine City Clerk
