Background/Discussion Section 46-38 of the city's ordinance authorizes the city to levy an assessment against property for any costs the city incurs to abate a public nuisance. All property owners who were in violation of the public nuisance ordinance received a notice informing them that they had the opportunity to correct the violation or the city would abate the property and they would be assessed for the costs. Attached is a list of abated properties and the costs incurred by the city. The total amount assessed is $1,537.18. The total amount assessed in 2014 was $3,591.22. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,Minnesota, as follows: The parcels and amounts listed on Exhibit A attached hereto, are correct and made a part hereof, are to be levied, and are to be certified to the Sherburne County Auditor.
