Approve,by motion, the hiring of Zach Behrns for the position of Street Maintenance Operator II
effective November 17, 2015.
Background/Discussion
Following the resignation of Street Maintenance Operator II Dennis Jenson, the city went to market to
fill the position. The city received 20 applications and interviewed the top nine candidates. Staff
recommends Zach Behrns for this position.
Mr. Behrns has been working for the street division as a seasonal laborer for the past three seasons.
During that time he has learned many valuable skills and obtained his Class A Commercial Driver's
License. Prior to his seasonal employment with the city,Mr. Behrns received equipment operation
experience with Plaisted Companies.
Mr. Behrns will be paid at step A of pay grade 6.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
