Action Requested
Approve,by motion, the hiring of Shane Fisher for the position of Park Maintenance Worker effective
December 4, 2015.
Background/Discussion
Former Park Maintenance Worker,Kris Paulseth,resigned in June of this year. Staff chose to wait to fill
the position until the new Park Maintenance Superintendent was on board. Staff went to market in
September,received 78 applications for this position, and interviewed the top eight candidates.
Following second interviews with three candidates, staff recommends Shane Fisher for this position.
Mr. Fisher has been working in park maintenance for Anoka County for the past seven years. He holds a
Class A Commercial Driver's License and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Shane's
responsibilities at Anoka County consist of daily park maintenance at Lake George Regional Park to
include mowing, swimming beach maintenance,picnic shelter maintenance and repair, forestry,irrigation
repair,playground and RPZ inspections, and overall responsibility for park cleanliness. Prior to his
assignment at Lake George, Shane was the lead parkkeeper at Bunker Hills Regional Park where he had
additional duties in the campground facility, dog park, and disc golf course.
Mr. Fisher will be paid at step A of pay grade 6.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
