Direct, by motion, staff to prepare ordinance amendments to allow in-house approvals of the following
licenses:
Fireworks (Pyrotechnics, Retail Sales/Storage, Temporary Tent)
Kennel (commercial/private)
Liquor
Massage Establishment
Massage Therapist
Solicitor/Peddler/Transient Merchant
Block Party
Tobacco
Mechanical Amusement
Special Events
Waste Haulers
Background/Discussion
Council reviewed the streamlining of the licensing process at its November 2, 2015, meeting and directed
staff to bring back recommendations on licenses to approve in-house by staff.
Each license type will require an ordinance amendment and be reviewed by Council. As we are going
through the review process of each license ordinance amendment, Council can always decide at that time
to not move forward with allowing staff approval.
