Buffalo and Maple Lake Mock Car Crash

In cooperation with Wright County Sheriff's Department, Buffalo and Maple Lake Schools, and Buffalo and
Maple Lake Fire Departments, we videotaped the respective cities mock car crashes. Student and community
actors played the accident victims and fire and sheriff personnel did their parts to present to student bodies
the effects of driving under the influence and texting while driving.
Elk River Craft Fair
At the request of Jake in Elk River, I spent a few hours taping at the Elk River craft fair for a promotional
video for their channel.
Big Lake Mayor Shoot for Movie Intro
• Taped a simple "Welcome to the Movie in the Park" sequence to play before the movie.

Free concerts in the park near the Mississippi River, we set up the trailer and record the event. Elk River's
producer,Jake, has been directing the shoots and I've been operating camera. By the end of summer we will
have taped four of these events. _

Parade Season
Hard to believe, but there are only three parades left this year. One of the fun things about parades is that
• we try to come up with something new to add value to the parade video each year. This year's "something
new" came from one of our announcers at the Delano 4th of July parade. We added in-parade interviews.
One of our announcers went in to the parade,jumped on tractors, fire trucks, and floats and interviewed
whoever would talk to him. It took us by surprise and was a little rough, but we worked through and ended
up with a much more entertaining event. We tried it at the next parade in Monticello with a little more
success. But, I think the in-parade interviews are great especially during the inevitable "gaps" in the lineup.

A simple quick EDA video, shot in the council chambers using a single presenter.
Delano Concert Butch Automatic
Another trailer shoot, this one was almost rained out. Before the show started,the skies opened up and
dumped about an inch of rain all over our party. Somewhere in Wright County there was a tornado
touchdown, but an hour before show time,the storm let up and the show went on. Butch Automatic is a
local band that has been performing in the area for more than 30 years. They are entertaining to watch as
they impersonate various famous bands like Ozzy, ZZ Top, Sonny and Cher and even the Village People.

Delano Community Pageant
Delano Senior Center and Community Education co-produced "Art Comes Alive" a combination of works of
art, music and poetry. We provided the audio and recorded the event.
Movie in the Park or Gym or Street or Parking Lot
We can do a movie just about anywhere now, and actually, we have had very few movies in the "Park"
I may have to think up a new name. The indoor screen works nicely on a basketball court. It's nice to have a
back up location to show the movies. We have done seven movies so far with only one postponement.

Production Trailer
The production trailer has gotten a workout so far this summer and has performed great. We have had some
new volunteers come forward and our older volunteers have helped and guided them. We have a 17 year
•
old that, until he started volunteering with us, didn't know what he wanted to do for a career. According to
his father, he has been looking at production schools. Another volunteer is performing his community
service hours with us and has become a regular at parades.

Generally I try to avoid having one of my camera guys in the shot, but sometimes it happens.
I have started planning football season. Unfortunately it seems that the conferences have shuffled around
0 and there will be fewer of my cities playing each other. If there is a game you would like us to tape let me
know as soon as possible to get it in the schedule. Basketball season starts soon after football season and we
will be gearing up for those as well. I will be looking for more volunteers from the schools to tape these
events. Hockey and Baseball are on the list and we will be scheduling a hockey game this winter.
