D. Adoption of the revised organizational structure for the city
The director of economic development has had a number of recent inquiries regarding the
city /EDA owned Business Park and industrial properties, A discussion of the issues related
to the development or selling of the city /EDA properties needs to take place so that staff
can respond appropriately to these inquiries. The purpose of a joint EDA and City Council
worksession is to reach a consensus on a city /EDA policy as it relates to the development or
selling of our publicly owned properties.
At the September 13, 2004 City Council meeting, the Mayor stated that she would like to
have the Brimeyer Work Program brought back to the City Council for discussion and
adoption. In this regard there are still some components of the December 2003 work
program that have not been discussed by the City Council and which should be discussed
prior to adoption. Additionally, the timeframes for completion of the assigrunents in the
work program need to be adjusted. A lot of work has been done in terms of completing
assigrunents included in the work program but more work remains in order for the project
to be successfully implemented.
Input from the Council regarding these two meetings and for agenda items for upcoming
Council worksession is requested.
