Staff Update
DISCUSSION:
• Delivered five new residential water meters, and two new commercial meters.
• Sealed the water meter, and took curb stop ties from eleven water services.
• Went on 18 service calls
• Completed 25 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria.
• Completed 20 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards.
• Completed one nitrate sample for Well #5
• The Minnesota Department of Health was out to take samples from Well #5. The samples
are looking for unregulated contaminants.
• We had eight more businesses sign up for the Private Hydrant Maintenance Program,
which brings us up to a total of 181 private hydrants on the program. There are currently
20 businesses, with 38 hydrants, that are not on the program.
• The water operators are currently performing the annual maintenance on all of the wells.
This includes recharging all of the filters, replacing chemical feed equipment, and
repairing any items that need attention.
• The WTP #7 Expansion Project has gone out for bids. We should have a recommendation
for awarding the bid at the February Commission Meeting.
• We posted for the vacant water operator position. The posting closes at 4:30 pm on
January 15.
