Staff continues the process of planning our 2016 recreation programs while managing
current offerings. Development has now begun on the May through August program guide
which has the highest volume of recreation program offerings as compared to other seasons.
Orono Park Skate Park Project
At the December 14,2015 Council meeting,the Council approved the hiring of Spohn
Ranch Skateparks to provide design services for the Orono Park Skate Park. Upon further
review of the Agreement for Professional Services,Spohn Ranch requested two adjustments
to the agreement regarding the ownership of the design work. Spohn Ranch's liability
insurance company requests that the agreement language provides the City with full use of
the documents for their project,but ownership remain with Spohn Ranch. Peter Beck,the
City Attorney,reviewed and supported the requested change.
At the February 1,2016 City Council Meeting approved the revised contract. With the
contract now complete,staff has been in discussion with Spohn Ranch to set the project
calendar.

Hobby Fair and Share Day was held on January 15t. Everyone enjoyed the many displays,
learning about hobbies and collections,and visiting with others. Collections included model
planes,dolls,baseball memorabilia,coins,Native American artifacts,weaving,and more.
As of January,the Activity Center has its own Facebook page.We hope to reach and attract
a large group of seniors through social media.
