Background/Discussion
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY
Data Center Site Visits
Staff has seen increased activity over the past few months on the county-owned data center site and the
Northstar and Natures Edge business parks. Staff is working with local and regional brokers representing
clients interested in pursuing developments on these city and county-owned parcels.
Cornerstone Ford Expansion
They submitted an application for Property Tax Abatement Financing on Feb 1, 2016,and the
application is under reviewed by our Financial Advisor and will be presented to the EDA Finance
Committee later this month. They are anticipating a spring 2016 construction start.
Joplin Property Update
Amanda,Dan Weber, Kathy Heaney and Patti Kukowski from Sherburne County discussed the remnant
county parcel after the county found the owner of the car dealership east of Ralphie's Victory is fee
owner to a portion of the ROW.
BUSINESS VISITS
BR&E visits were conducted last month at Preferred Powder Coating and MoCorp, Inc. Our strategic
plan and performance measures call for two visits per month for 24 a year. Our next visit is scheduled
for 10 a.m., February 10,2016m at Avalon Salon.
MISCELLANEOUS .
Sherburne County Partnership Meeting
Staff attended the Sherburne County Community Partnership meeting. The partnership meets quarterly
basis to network and to hear about exciting topics impacting the county. This meeting included
presentations from GreaterMSP, the Central MN Council on Aging,Northstar Commuter rail update,
and the Blandin Broadband grant projects.

Elk River Chamber PACE Business Awards
Amanda and CM Wagner attended the PACE Business of the Year awards luncheon for 2015 this week.
The following Elk River businesses received awards:
• Coborn's Elk River—Employer of the Year
• ReNew You Medical Spa—New Business of the Year
• Zylstra Harley Davidson—Business of the Year
The awards were well deserved,and Amanda enjoyed interacting and networking with various
community stakeholders at the luncheon.
