Members Absent: None
Staff Present: Economic Development Director Amanda Othoudt, Economic
Development Specialist Colleen Eddy, and City Clerk Tina Allard
Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m.
2. Presentation of the Comprehensive Housing Needs Analysis
Facilitated by Maxfield Research and Consulting
Ms. Othoudt introduced Vice President Matt Mullins with Maxfield Research.
Mr. Mullins provided an overview of Elk River's housing needs. He discussed the
market, demographics, lot supply, and housing types as outlined in his presentation.
Councilmember Wagner questioned the type of housing stock the 55+ population
prefer.
Mr. Mullins stated it varies based upon the person's lifestyle and when the feel they
need more services.
There was discussion by the commission about the current and future housing
projects in Elk River.
Mr. Mullins noted if the future housing development projects continue to move
forward, it will bring Elk River into the study's recommended guidelines for housing
stock.
