SUBJECT: Industrial Land Development
At its November meeting the EDA authorized staff to explore the following options in
regard to industrial land development:
• Alternative strategies for working with private landowners of business park property
• Strategy for the development of the EDA's property located off of Twin Lakes Blvd
. In addition to the consideration of a city-owned industrial park, the Strategic Industrial
Marketing Plan includes a recommendation that Duckor &Associates debrief the Planning
Commission on industrial development and client requirements. Staff has scheduled this
Planning Commission work session for February 11, 2003 at 6:30 p.m.
The EDA discussed having a future work session to further discuss the above development
strategies. Staff suggests that the EDA first participates in a joint work session with the
Planning Commission in order to fully understand the client drivers and requirements for
industrial versus business park development.
Action Requested
Staff requests the EDA call a special meeting for Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. for
the purposes of a joint work session with the Planning Commission in regards to industrial
development.
