City of Elk -�-1 River TO: Economic Development Authority FROM: Catherine Mehelich, Director of Economic Development DATE: MEMORANDUM May 14, 2001 SUBJECT: Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan - Update Marketing Materials/Website Staff will present the new folder and inserts at the meeting. The new folder and inserts are 5. designed in coordination with the communication strategy/logo project. In addition, Marc Nevinski will be presenting the updated Economic Development Department webpage at the meeting. Customer Service & Siting/Expansion Process Plan The site/expansion service vision is to provide a seamless siting process to meet the industrial client's need for resources,information and business incentives that helps the client site and/or grow in the City of Elk River. This process has been completed over the last seven months and has involved valuable time and participation from nine departments. Anita Duckor, Duckor&Associates will be present at the meeting to provide a final report to the EDA on the Customer Service &Siting/Expansion Process Plan. Key Accounts Staff will participate with Sherburne County in hosting a real estate broker and developer reception on May 15, 2001 at Hero's Event Center,Big Lake. The reception will provide an overview of Sherburne County as a place to do business and provide information about available commercial/industrial property. Over 100 real estate brokers and developers have been invited. Landowners of available commercial/industrial land have also been invited to network with the brokers. The new marketing materials will be distributed at the event. Advertising The attached April and May advertisings featured local firms Marketech and Sportech. These ads were published in Job Shop Technology, Minnesota Real Estate Journal Leasing Guide, and Twin Cities Business Monthly.
