EDSR INFORMATION #2 05-08-2000 Marc Nevinski -7C rom: Mark Jenson [mljenson@ecenet.com] 0,Q nt: Thursday, April 27, 2000 1:42 PM �� o: Harlan Jacobs 41, Subject: Elk River Incubator Facilities Dear Harlan, After looking over our facility requirements for water, electrical and space, we have concluded that there may be some problems with the incubator facility in Elk River. I will go over the requirements and concerns below. Space: The current layout of space available does not allow adequate industrial and office space in any single area. We would need to have some walls moved and new office space added. This would of course limit the remaining space and may hinder leasing of that space. Electrical: Current estimates are that we will need approximately 600 Amp service with 460V 3 Phase. Water: Initially water consumption should be very low. On the order of 300 to 600 gallons per day. One year into the effort the water consumption could peak as high as 2500 gallons per day although typical would probably be something less like 1500 gallons per day. We will also need Oor drains installed. My understanding is that this facility has a ell and septic system. I am concerned that the well water be of sufficiently low mineral content to prevent problems in our RF systems that are water-cooled. We will of course be using chillers but the initial water quality will need to be high enough to allow treatment to acceptable levels. I also wonder if the septic can handle the water volumes we will need. HVAC: We will require small amounts of exhaust for the outlet of oil based vacuum pumps. A small roof mounted fan operated unit should easily handle our requirements. We will also need to provide some level of AC to the facility as process conditions are adversely effected by unstable temperature and humidity levels. Please let me know if we will be able to work through these issues in a satisfactory manner.
