Action Requested
Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging the monetary contribution of $10,000 from Great River
Energy. Tim Steinbeck from Great River Energy will present the check.
Background/Discussion
Great River Energy has contributed $10,000 to The Elk River Police Department for the purchase of new
police ballistic helmets and vests. The department budgeted funds in 2015 to replace aging and worn
helmets and vests. This generous donation will offset a portion of the budgeted expense.
The purchase of up-to-date ballistic helmets and vests will assist and protect police officers as they
provide operational safety service to the community and companies such as Great River Energy.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute §465.03, resolutions acknowledging contributions must be adopted by a
four-fifths vote.
