Dear Congressman Oberstar:
Thank you for taking the time to come to Elk River last Tuesday
to meet with us at City Hall .
Your efforts regarding Elk River's MSA designation are greatly
appreciated.
After the meeting we talked briefly about Elk River's efforts to
establish a business park and the frustration we are having trying
to qualify for federal economic development programs for
infrastructure improvements.
• We have selected a site, the city has committed $400,000 and we
have companies interested in locating in Elk River. We need to
obtain funds to extend streets, water and sewer to the site.
This project will provide people with good paying jobs, something
I feel is essential in this country.
You indicated a desire to meet with our citizen's committee to see
if there is a way you could help us. Your offer is a generous one
and I thank you for your interest in our project.
Please let me know a time my group could sit down and talk to you.
Our committee members are local so we can be flexible in arranging
a time to meet your busy schedule.
Thank you the interest you show in Elk River. I have seen you in
Elk River more times than any previous Representative. I want you
to know that I appre iate that.
