Discussion of request to hold event at Orono Park
Approval by motion for the Officer Todd Besser Memorial/Backing the Blue Line group to hold their
event at Orono Park with the following provisions:
• Park rental fee be waived.
• Damage deposit of$500 (per the City Special Event Permit Application).
• Group will pay cost of extra items such as portable toilets, trash pick-up as needed.
• No marking of any kind are to be made on the trails. Cones and signs may be used.
• No motorized vehicles are to be used on the trails.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
• The Officer Todd Besser Memorial/Backing the Blue Line group has requested the use of Orono
Park to hold their memorial event.
• The event is scheduled for Saturday,May 14.
• Orono Park will be utilized as part of a run/walk and for entertainment in one of the shelters.
• This event is being directed through the city-wide special event permit process.
• Other areas outside of Orono Park such as the City Hall and Police Station parking lot will also be
utilized.
