Orono Park Skate Park
A workshop to kick off the process of developing a design for the Orono Park skate park
was held on Thursday,March 03. Our consultant from Spohn Ranch, the company hired to
provide the design services, led the anticipated. Overall attendance at the workshop was
much lower than what was hoped for. Moving forward strong outreach efforts to potential
user groups through social media and direct contact will be implemented.
Recreation Program Guide
The Parks and Recreation Department is going to be implementing a new approach to the
marketing of programs and services. Beginning in the fall of 2016 the recreation program
guide will no longer be produced. Marketing methods moving forward will focus on the
expansion of social media techniques, such as Facebook and e-mail blasts,in order to direct
people to the Parks and Recreation website for more information and to register for
programs. Throughout the summer months the community will be educated on this new
approach.
