Discuss the Jackson Street Water Tower restoration project.
Background/Discussion
Staff and the Heritage Preservation Commission are seeking input from the City Council regarding their
vision for the Jackson Street Water Tower, its site, and its connections to other projects or areas within
the city. The tower will observe its 100"' anniversary in 2019 and was critical to the growth and
development of Elk River.
Staff will also update the City Council on the current status of the Jackson Street Water Tower restoration
project, including funding sources and timelines.

Where are we?
■ Structure was included on National Register in 2012
■ Condition Assessment completed August 2015
■ Cost estimate of $85,000
■ ERMU set aside funding for a grant match
