DISCUSSION:
• The Locating department had a total of 227 locate tickets in February; one of them being an
emergency ticket, two cancellations, six meetings, 211 normal tickets and three updated
tickets.
• In February,the Security Systems Department had a total of 82 phone contacts, 10 systems
quoted, three system sales made, four installs completed, 29 service calls and 9 personal
visits.
• Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, hanging
red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as delivering and
installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change out the three phase
meters with meters that will be read by radio ERT. Meter change outs in Area la and lb are
nearly complete and we've now turned our efforts to effective auditing of areas acquired
from Connexus.
• Installed and commissioned new substation Real-Time Automation Controller(RTAC)at
West Substation Bank 1 and Bank 2. Tested controls for both 69kv breakers.
• The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on March 15`h. All engines ran well with
no problems.
• Mapping department is working on getting new map books completed and getting map
updated to include all of the area from 1 a and lb.
• Angela Hauge attended the Mid-West ESRI Utility Users Group GIS Conference March 30
—April 2 in Mankato, MN. Her education report is attached.
• I attended the American Public Power Association(APPA)Engineering& Operations
Technical Conference and Rodeo. The Rodeo was a great opportunity to witness our crews
demonstrating their skills and abilities under the pressure of competition. The conference

consisted of many different informative topics ranging from the Automated Meter
Information platforms to Distribution Automation(DA) and Cyber Security. I learned much
from all of the technical experts and took the opportunity to network with peers on how they
use DA, and in which ways we can improve ours. In all, it was a very good conference. I
was able to network with many other municipal folks as well as learn a great deal. I am
appreciative of Elk River Municipal Utilities for the opportunity to attend.
