SUBJECT: Agreements for Residential Garbage, Refuse & Recycling
The Agreements for the Residential Garbage, Refuse and Recycling Collection expired on
October 31, 2004. City staff met with BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc and
Randy's Sanitation, Inc who currently provide these services to City residents. It was agreed
that the Agreements will be extended for another five (5) years. However, both haulers
would like to see an increase. It was decided that beginning on November 1 of each even
numbered year the City and the Contractor will meet to jointly review the terms of this
Agreement, including the payment schedule to determine if any adjustments are needed.
However, nothing in the Agreement obligates the City to increase payment as a result of
such meetings.
The Agreements have not been signed by the haulers so you will be receiving them at a
later time to be signed.
