Background/Discussion
Staff has contacted the Sherburne County Auditor-Treasurer's office for the property located at 18584
Troy Street to begin negotiations on the purchase of the property.
Sherburne County has submitted the property information to the Department of Natural Resources
(DNR). If the property is not considered conservation land by the DNR,public entities will have first
right of refusal to purchase the property before it goes to public auction in September.
Sherburne County staff indicated that they have received several inquiries from the general public about
the property. Information about the Blighted Properties Residential Forgivable loan program was
submitted to Sherburne County staff.
If the commission is interested in purchasing the property, the Elk River Fire Department would be
interested in performing training exercises on the property.Aaron Surrat, Deputy Chief of Operations &
