I. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice ther e meeting of the ElkRi yr Parks and
Recreation Commission was called torr at 6:30 , . by Chair`' lerson.
2. Consider 04/13/16 Agenda 6

4. Open Forum
Mr. Ring-Jarvi 14260 Bauers II> ' noka shared last year's race results and discussed
flus
year's event parking and logistics. US Canoe Association will be covering the
insurance.
5. Park/Program.Highlight
Mr. Benoit highlighted the Kick off to Summer Party which will be held on
Wednesday,June 15,2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lion John Weicht Park.

8. Parks and Recreation Director Update
Mr. Hecker presented his staff report.
9. Division Manager's Update
Mr. Benoit presented his staff report. Sharing a skate park update, and that field
improvement discussions were held with associations recently.
10. Multi-purpose Community Center Steering Committee Update
Commissioner Holmgren shared a committee update. Stating that narrowing the
focus on type of facility,location and financing has begun and that there is concern
of the financial outlook of the differences between the options being looked at. Also
looking at the big picture of what this will impact in the future of the Elk River
community.
I I. William H. Houlton Conservation Area Committee Update
Commissioner Anderson shared update. Parking lot plans are dialed in,master site
plan at the next meeting and hunting plan to council soon and the signage plan is
being worked on. Building removal will happen soon. Friend's committee update;
sneak preview and campfire event, to view the property and being a part of the
Friend's group.
12. Announcements
Mr. Hecker shared the Woodland Trails Park Master Plan Open House event
tomorrow.
13. Adjournment to Worksession
There being no further business, Chair Anderson adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River Parks and Recreation Commission at 7:06 p.m.
