Background/Discussion
The Parks Maintenance Division will be incorporating a landscaped backdrop to the Whimsical Windmill
with an expansion of the existing prairie garden. The garden will include pollinator gardens to provide a
habitat for the monarch butterfly and boulders around the base of the windmill to create a cleaner look.
The extension of the prairie garden will assist the grounds staff with the mowing and maintenance of the
site. Parks staff has estimated the cost of the plants and boulders to be approximately$250,which falls
under the maintenance needs of the windmill.
Financial Impact
Funding for future maintenance needs is included in the 2016 budget.
