John Cunningham, Fire Chief and Recognition Item Description Reviewed by CenterPoint Energy Check Presentation Cal Portner, City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested  Mayor, Council, and Chief Cunningham to accept check from CenterPoint Energy.  Adopt, by motion, the attached resolution acknowledging financial contribution of $2,500 to purchase multi-gas meters for the Fire Department. Background/Discussion The Fire Department applied for and received a Community Partnership Grant from CenterPoint Energy to purchase new multi-gas meters. CenterPoint Energy will present a check to the city. Contributions shall be approved for acceptance and resolution adopted by at least four-fifths vote. Financial Impact The grant requires a $2,500 match which will come from the department’s current operating budget. Attachments  Resolution Resolution 16-____ A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contribution from CenterPoint Energy WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and individuals for their contributions to the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Fire Department received a financial donation in the amount of $2,500 from CenterPoint Energy for the purchase of new multi-gas meters. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths vote, to acknowledge the support and commend CenterPoint Energy for their donation.
