Background/Discussion
The Sherburne County fair is scheduled for July 14— 17, 2016. Information about the fair can be
obtained at www.sherburnecoun yfair.org.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday,July 16 at 10:00 a.m. The parade route will begin at Main Street and
Proctor Avenue and continue to the fairgrounds via Orono Parkway.
The band Hairball is scheduled to play the grandstand on Friday,July 15. Hairball concerts typically
attract anywhere from 3,000 to 4,000 people. The Sherburne County Sheriffs Office is providing security
for the entire fair, including the grandstand events. The band played the grandstand last year and no
major issues were brought to our attention.
The Minnesota Department of Health inspects the food vendors and tests the water supply on an annual
basis. Multiple holding tanks for solid waste are pumped as needed. The fairgrounds will have numerous
portable toilets.
Financial Impact
Community service officers will install and remove no parking signage along the parade route. The Police
Department usually supplies approximately 10 staff members made up of reserves and sworn officers to
assist with blocking intersections and directing traffic.
