Item #4.2.
MEMORANDUM
TO:
Mayor & City Council
FROM:
Phil Hals, Street/Park Supt.
DATE:
June 24, 1998
SUBJECT: Safety Camp Update
The City of Elk River Safety Camp was a SUCCESS!!!!
Under the leadership of Chairperson Lori Ziemer, staff members from the
police department, fire department, wastewater treatment plant, finance
department, street department, area recreation, and municipal utilities
planned and provided assistance for the actual camp days. Funding was
provided by the City of Elk River with cash donations from the American
Legion and First National Bank.
All members of the committee did a commendable job in support of this
project, but I think that Michele Bergh of Area Recreation deserves special
recognition for all of her work in scheduling, logistics, organizing, and
coordinating.
Attached is a summary of the camp's evaluations. Staffis as pleased with
the results as the camp attendees were. Plans are now being discussed for
next year's camp.
Marissa Lee has some video footage from the Safety Camp that she will be
showing at Monday's meeting.
