SUBJECT: Consider Street/Park Personnel
Addi tions/Changes
On June 1, 1998, the City Council authorized the hiring of an additional
Maintenance I worker for the street/park department. We contacted the
individual who finished second in our October 1997 interviews, but he
declined the offer in order to stay with his present employer. The third
finisher was Milt Kinnunen, our part time laborer. Mter discussing the
possibilities with Milt, I would like to recommend that the Council authorize
the promotion of Milt Kinnunen to a full time Maintenance I worker at a pay
level of $9.88.
The part time laborer position would be covered by summer youth workers
until fall when I will again approach the City Council with recommendations
for a candidate to fill that position.
Action Reauested
Staff recommends the promotion of Milt Kinnunen to Maintenance I at a pay
of $9.88 per hour.
