Approve,by motion, the promotion of Lori Ziemer to the position of Finance Director effective August
16, 2016.
Background/Discussion
When Tim Simon resigned to take a position in St. Louis Park,we went to market to fill the finance
director position. We have received 22 applications interviewed the top four candidates. Following
interviews and pre-employment testing, staff recommends Lori Ziemer for the position of finance
director.
Mr. Ziemer has been the assistant finance director for the city since 1995 and has worked as interim
finance director since May. Ms. Ziemer will start at step B of pay grade 16.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
