Appoint, by motion, Finance Director Lori Ziemer to the Fire Relief Association Board with a term
expiration of January 3, 2017.
Background/Discussion
Per Minnesota Statute §424A.04, fire relief associations must have three city trustees on their board.
One member must be the fire chief. The city appoints the other two trustees on an annual basis.
Historically, the mayor and the finance director have been the two city trustees.
With the change in staff for the finance director position, the Fire Relief Association Board has a city
trustee vacancy. The Council should appoint the new finance director, Lori Ziemer to the Board to fill
the remaining term.
