Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Eric Volk—Water Superintendent John Dietz—Chair Al Nadeau—Vice Chair Daryl Thompson—Trustee MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: September 13,2016 4.1 SUBJECT: Field Service Facility Expansion Update DISCUSSION: Following the purchase of 1437 Main Street, we met with Kodet Architectural Group to discuss the future of the field service facility expansion. The meeting offered us the opportunity to review what we had previously discussed and to come up with a game plan on how we want to proceed forward. It was determined that we would start the process by reviewing the plans to see which one offers the best fit. We are also going to be completing some soil borings around the current field services building so we are aware of all of the soil types on the property.After we finalize some plans,we'll be able to determine what types of site improvements will need to be made. We already know that the wetlands will need to be relocated and the substation will need to be moved. Attached is a very preliminary drawing of the expansion footprint.
