SUBJECT: Appointment of Acting Mayor
Section 2-54 of the Elk River Code requires the Council to appoint an Acting ~yor. The
Acting Mayor performs the duties of the Mayor during the disability or absence pf the
Mayor from the city, or in the case of a vacancy in the office of Mayor, until a successor has
been appointed and qualified.
Although all Councilmembers are eligible for this appointment at anytime, it haf been past
practice to rotate this position. Listed below are Acting Mayor appointments fOIt the past five
years.
